Clients Relocate from France to Norris Canyon Estates

The Harper Team recently had the pleasure of working with new clients who were relocating to California from Paris and needed to find a home very quickly, We were initially contacted by the Human Resources Department of the company that he would be working for in the East Bay who had researched a number of Realtors.

Having satisfied the HR manager that we were very familiar with the area, the local communities, schools and neighborhoods that would meet the client’s search criteria, we were asked to contact the clients to answer any questions they had and to set up an appointment to show them the area. As they had never been to the San Ramon Valley and had a very short time frame, they needed to quickly narrow down the communities, neighborhoods and homes for sale that would be of interest.

Unfortunately, they were not able to visit the area together so the husband came in first and we spent several days looking at neighborhoods and homes in several communities including San Ramon, Danville, Blackhawk, Alamo, Diablo, Lafayette, Walnut Creek and Pleasanton. We were able to narrow down the areas he was most interested based on commute time to work, schools, and several other factors.

He returned to Paris and his wife came in the following week with her mother – determined to find a home for sale in San Ramon or Danville that they could purchase. It was an absolute pleasure working with them to once again preview homes and neighborhoods.

They fell in love with several communities in Danville and Blackhawk including Blackhawk Country Club. We spent most of the day looking at homes in the area and had lunch at the Blackhawk Grille in the Blackhawk Plaza. After much debate, it was decided to look at an area that would be a little shorter commute to work for the husband and we showed them Norris Canyon Estates which he had already seen and was also very interested in.

As there were limited homes for resale on the market, we had already decided when the husband was in town to send a letter to homeowners in Norris Canyon Estates asking if anyone was going to be putting their home on the market in the near future. We got several responses, but none of them were right for our clients. So, we ended up looking at everything on the market which included resale homes and a few new ones that were in various stages of construction.

They decided on a new home they really loved and negotiations began. The process took two days with several turns, but suffice it to say that Tracey Harper’s former experience as a community sales manager with a national home builder/developer came in very handy in helping them navigate through the negotiation process, selecting the upgrades to the home and getting all the documents completed. The clients were so excited and pleased with the whole process that they agreed to make a few comments on camera about the process.
